The donkey is the symbol of Vietri ceramics made for the first time in 1923 with the classic copper green/red color. The donkey or "pacifier" was a basic animal in the daily life of the inhabitants of the Amalfi Coast, which due to its conformation made it difficult to transport goods from the port to the villages in the mountains. It can be used as a sugar bowl and to serve spices on the table.
This piece is entirely made and decorated by hand and for this reason it is unique and unrepeatable. Deformity of the object and shades of color are not to be considered a defect but a sign of craftsmanship.
